Research Responsibility Program / PEERRS

Sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research
University of Michigan

Over the last decade, OVPR sponsored the Research Responsibility Program (RRP), a yearlong series of presentation and case study discussion sessions on a number of themes in responsible research and scholarship.

Now OVPR offers a web-based curriculum for faculty, staff, and students, called the Program for the Education and Evaluation in Responsible Research and Scholarship (PEERRS). It is a basic foundation and certification in responsible research conduct. It provides a customized curriculum of required or recommended modules for each user according to that individual's research role.

Available modules are: Foundations of Research Responsbility, Research Administration, Conflict of Interest, Animal Research, and Human Subject Protection.

Each module consists of 20-30 web pages containing the core material, short case studies with questions, and pop-ups with additional information to provide greater depth and elaboration. At the end of each module a compiled list of module resources will also be provided.

To reach the new PEERRS website, please go to: PEERRS or please call OVPR at (734) 763-1289, or send us e-mail: peerrs@umich.edu
